Everyday Herbalism
Want to be able to find and make a remedy no matter where you are? This class is ideal for the beginner who wants a set of home remedies for every day use and to be able to identify remedies on-the-go. Each class will include a plant slideshow where you will learn how to identify different plants along with their uses. There will also be instruction on how to make tinctures and salves from the plant material you find.
Topics covered will include remedies for wounds, aches and pains, indigestion, sleep, antivirals and more! Plants covered will include Japanese honey suckle, henbit, purple dead nettle, violet, to name a few.
Along with learning how to work with the plants, you will learn how to bring your values into your work with plants. There will be discussions about ethical harvesting, disability justice, invasive species, and more!
Please note, we will be focusing on plants found commonly throughout the continental US but specifically focused on plants in the Midwest. If you are unsure if the plants discussed will be growing in your region, please contact me.
Not all supplies necessary are covered by the class fee. Except to spend another $5-$10 on menstrua (oil for salve, vinegar or alcohol for tincture).
